The fruit for this wine came from the Frankland River area in the heart of the Great Southern region. As the area is quite a distance from the coast, the inland climate conditions of warm days and cool nights provides ideal conditions for shiraz to be grown. The gravelly granite loam soils and undulating terrain delivers shiraz that is quite distinctive to Frankland River.
A small portion of this wine finished fermentation in specially selected, new french oak barrels. Following fermentation, the wine was matured in a mix of new and one year old french and american oak barrels for 22 months. The wine was blended and bottled in mid April 2010.
Tasting Notes

Rich flavours of sweet blackberries, liquorice and mocha, are complemented by fine velvety tannins on the palate. The finish is long and multi-dimensional.
